HCL 56: Give a Hoot is a mixed martial arts event held by the Human Cockfighting League. The event will take place on Sunday, September 18, 2016 from the Heritage Preservation Hall in Landover, Maryland. This is the first HCL event to take place at this location, and the first HCL event to take place in the state of Colorado.
This event will feature eight sanctioned mixed martial arts bouts. All fights will consist of three five-minute rounds, except for the main event championship fight, which consists of five five-minute rounds.
This event features the finals of the Welterweight Contender Tournament, with the winner of the co-main event fight earning a shot at the HCL Welterweight Championship at HCL 59. In addition, this event also features the two semi-finals of the Heavyweight Contender Tournament.
