HCL 22: TWENTY-TWO!? was the twenty-second mixed martial arts event held by the Human Cockfighting League. The event took place on July 7, 2013 from the DiMambro Arena in Morin Heights, Quebec, Canada.
Event
This event featured seven sanctioned mixed martial arts bouts. All fights consisted of three five-minute rounds, except for the main event championship fight, which consisted of five five-minute rounds.
The main event featured the third meeting in the epic rivalry between Heavyweight Champion Jorgi Magumbo and former champion Leo Serengeti. While their second meeting went the five-round distance, it was Magumbo in the fourth round who scored the TKO victory, marking the first time Serengeti was finished in his career. After that win, it was known that the next Heavyweight Championship fight will pit Magumbo against Salvador Topanopoulos at HCL 26.
In the co-main event, Caramel Thunderbird soundly defeated Steve Bonaventure by submission, earning himself Submission of the Night honors, as well as a title shot against Gustaf Ackerman. That match will happen rather soon, taking place in only 3 shows at HCL 25.
After his loss in the preliminary card to DJ Swollen Nipple, HCL officials released Andrew Harvard from his contract. This show marked the first ever wins for not only Nipple, but also klan member Jon-Joe Winchester and Serbian Dragan Stojanovic.
